Hi Guys.....

Same old question again ..... Which I am sure one of you knows the answer.

Stumbled on what I hope is an "industrial" 251 or better still 265??
Engine is attached to a larger irrigation pump.... definitely 25 inches long.
Has a crew in oil dipstick tube similar to the M37 military but not water proofed.
Has a Chryco generator, starter and distributor all of which are larger than usual. The distributor has an Autolite cap... broken... but inside the distributor is a plate flush to the rim of the distributor that completely hids the points and condenser. It has no vacuum system so probably mechanical.
The carb base is broken but it has a governor and standard manifold.
Now the serial number is not the usual "IN*-****" but rather IO4-4354.
I can have it for $40..... worth it just for the fun of disassembly and learning experience... but it would be nice if it had the crank and rods of a 265 for my rebuild project.

So can someone help ID this sucker and can I have some problems with the number of hole on the crank for the flywheel???

Thanks for your help.

Cheers, Spring is finally here
Bob Carriere
