The swivel frame FFPW has extensive frame weldments as a part of the modification. After the main frame rails were cut in back of the cab, the ends were boxed in with extensive steel work to hold the swivel bushings. All connections to the main frame rails were weldments. In addition, flat stock was welded to the top and bottom rail flanges all the way back to the axle hump. These were continious welds both sides of the flat stock. The particular swivel frame I had was one done down in Fla. for the conservation dept. I assume this modification followed the original Wilock design plans. I never saw any cracked welds or other metal issues on this frame.
