Thanks for your reply Eric. The # is stamped on top of the pad. So I suspect it's a 25" head. Especially seeing how the kantanterous, retired old tranny mechanic cobbed-up the radiator cowl by moving it forward. The head casting # is: 132685S-2. Now the 8 could be a 3, and the S, I question. An engine rebuilder looked in his extensive engine casting #'s book and came up with #1326855, which ='s 1942 to 1968 251. He also said stamped #'s mean nothing to him, and he needs casting #'s. I have yet to measure the head. And your correct again on the stamp not being clear, but I'm certain that it is L314-4675. The motor is in a 47 WDX. The old guy say's he replaced it in the early to mid 60's. I'm with ya all the way Eric, Thanks. Still would like to nail it. Let me know what else you come up with. -Quinner.
