We have a small airport near Uggville, and they also had an air show a few years back. There was a B 17, B 24 & DC 3 that flew in besides all the WW II fighters. The only one that offered flying in was the DC 3.
Watching the B 17 take off at the end of the show was awesome, and like was mentioned below, you could only imagine what a 1,000 plane formation was like. Like also what was mentioned below, while TRYING to go thru the aircraft, I thought about how all those guys had to be small. I got some real cool pics of the 17 taking off.
I guess all MV's are like that. I guess also that when your young, your more pliable. I spent 7 years working on the USS Silversides, a Gato class WW II sub. I still have holes on my shins from trying to go down the ladders fast like they did during crash dives.
The conning tower was so cramped, you could only fit about 4 really close people in there. God help ya if someone farted. HA!
