I had both trucks titled in my name before I did my cab swap. After the swap, I had a Deputy inspect the job and sign off on the parts used. Then I applied to the State for a new VIN for the completed job with the signed inspection form from the Deputy. The State issued a new VIN that I stamped on the frame. Then a Deputy was required to perform another VIN inspection to verify the finished product. It sounds complicated, but it went pretty smoothly.
