My experience has been that many of these guys who are quick with a "silly" comment are the "kings" of only a few blocks. They have not taken their cars to any real drag strips and faced any real competition. That's why they are so quick to challenge such a different vehicle. They keep their moths shut when there is any serious competition around.

A week ago, I drove the M-37 to a car gathering at a local drive-in. Everyone there including the monster truck wannabee came up and complimented the old truck and asked meaningful questions. All the kids wanted to sit in the cab or on the troop seats. They enjoyed being able to climb in and all over - a treat that only the M-37 allowed.

This was a group of mature car enthusiasts whose rides reflected great diversity. They respected each other and each other's rides. It was a real pleasure to be around nice, serious car people. In this case the sating, "There's one in every crowd." was not true.

I encourage all of you to take your old trucks to the local shows and educate the rodders and the show-and-shine folks about "old iron" in its original form.
