Thirty cents difference here in Fla. right now. The Ultra Low Suphur Fuel has been here for several months, according to the stickers on the pump, so that is no excuse either. Nor is the heating oil scam as it is no surprise that the demand is going to be there EVERY winter and production could be ramped up before needed, of course then there would be no 'shortage'.

Back in '81 when I lived in Phoenix the price of diesel was less than that of leaded gas. About that time several foreign diesels started showing up on our shores for sale and some people started buying them, some being the operative word as there was not droves of people buying those diesels. By '84 the cost of diesel was that of premium fuel and by '85 the last of the little diesels were off the lots. No shortage of diesel and large amounts of diesel were not 'suddenly' bing sold but yet the petro companies were allowed to jack the price up because (their words) they were not making enough profit. And by then unleaded cost more than leaded also, although the petro companies stated it never would be when they first came out with it.

During the 'Katrina gas shortage' the price of diesel here in Fla. was that of regular gas or less, although both had gone up. So it is all BS pure and simple.

Driving less is not an option, I'm already down to only one tank a month unless I have to make a lot of runs to town so I don't want to hear that either.
