Temper of a Stihl can usually be brought back in line with a carb overhaul.
Being raised on a farm in N.-B. where we would do commercial logging, we always enjoyed Husqvarna and Stihl chainsaws.
Based on very bad experience we had, I would stay away from Poulan, McCullough and Homelite.
