I would think that most rural fire depts are probably now at the point where an M37 is more of a liability than a practical vehicle, from the standpoint of age, etc. However, I would also think there are still a few back woods fire depts that rely on a venerable M37 to get the job done.
I personally know of none being used as fire vehicles where I live. We're in a semi-rural area of Pa, but even our firehouse has modern equipment.
