Cool it, then separate it.

In my shop with a 5hp compound compressor, I made a rectangle of 1 1/2 copper pipe about 16" by 36", with a tee in center top and bottom. Silver solder it. It is mounted to the wall, above the compressor. The hose to connect to the comp is at a downward angle. As the hot air hits the cool copper, the moisture condenses and runs down, back into the tank. Drain tank daily. Never had a drop of water out of a hose since.

The compressed air is hottest at the pump, and cools as it enters the tank. Try not to take you air out of the tank directly under the incoming wet air. Horizontal tanks are better about that. A second air tank would have lots of cooling area and act as a big separator. Even a 5 gallon tank mounted near the pot would be a big help.

Since your air cools in the hose lying on the cool floor, you need your separator at the pot.

Good luck
