I went with High output Fluorescents and am NOT sorry. My shop is 24' X 50' with 14' ceiling. I put up 2 rows of 5 fixtures(10 total) spaced evenly. Wired them so I can turn on half if I want to. High outputs don't have the slow start or buzz to them and I like them and would do it again. My shops been done for 6 years and I've replaced 2 bulbs. I'm sure others will chime in with more info on other options. My sidewalls and ceiling are painted white which does wonders as well. Kevin
