Mount the PTO and lock the PTO idler gear with a screw driver. Rotate the transmission cluster gear to check backlash with dial indicator. Use appropriate thickness of gasket to get correct backlash. PTO runs of large cluster gear at front end of tranny. Put Tranny/PTO in neutral.
