Unless I am reading your post wrong I think you just defined what I meant by global economy. Companies that are/were American aren't. Companies that are American buying from overseas. Companies that make products here exporting them for use in other countries. Many American companies make crap and that sucks for everyone except the competition. Someone mentioned Chrysler/Dodge as being an American company. Did Daimler-Benz just sell it all back or something? Dodge put their name on Mitsubishi products for years and may still. Dodge Raider, Chevy Luv, Mazda=Ford, etc. The big three have pimped themselves out to Japan for years. They don't deserve my money any more and won't get it until they make something to compete with the Japanese. Other European makers suck as bad as American cars. I think Toyota is holding back for some reason as well. There is no reason why Toyota and Honda couldn't put the Big Three out of the picture entirely in 10 years I don't think.
