I am still on fires in Northern Ca. and have come across a utility trailer that would look pretty good behind my '48 FFPW. It looks to be old military converted for use by USFS for a burn trailer. It has mechanicle brakes and appears to be very strong structurally. It currently has a ball hitch coupling on it, but it's bolted on and can be replaced with a pintle hook. My question is, what is the height of the pintle hitch on the rear crossmember? I want to make sure it would sit level if pulled behind my truck. The owner said $200, but I think there is a possibility of $100 cash. Then I need to figure out how to get it home the 9 hour drive. No electrical and I'm in a Dakota Quad cab, plenty of power, but the hitch is way too low.
