I'm not jolking and you're not blind. You are not Superman, either. The bead retention depresion molded into the bead area cannot be seen by us mortals when the tire is correctly mounted.

No one other than you has ever suggested the idea that "those little lines cast in the side of the 9.00's" might have anything to do with bead retention.

It seems very important to you to repeatedly discredit the built in bead retention feature of military NDT tires. This goes all the way back to early 2003 with your insistance that it is perfectly safe to use 9.00 x 16 military NDT's on a 5.5 x 16 Budd wheel from a 1/2 ton WC.

I have no ego investment in this or any other information I provide when it concerns the safety of people who come to this Forum for information.

In your Sunday, August 27, 2006 at 5:29PM "Scroll down your page..." post, you have finally cleared this up for me. You admit, "When I worked as a tire serviceman, we routinely put tires on rims that were over or under sized." Apparently you are trying to find acceptence for your past actions wherein you showed a serious disregard for safety. Now that I understand, I will not debate this with you ever again. Three years is enough.

Not to debate but to answer... The 7.50 x 16 tires pictured are new, and I would never knowingly have anything to do with tires that were "under the thousands of pounds of pressure".

Have a nice day.
