Overdrives..some answers but not all

I don't think they started offering overdrives until about 1952. I think they were still available until 1959 but 1955 they would be 12 volt.

These overdrives fit all P-15s. They do not fit directly in some of the later coupes that did not have the extension on the transmission...eg 1950.

I don't know if they fit the top loader transmissions...I think those were shorter and did not have the extension. So even if they bolted up (don't know about that), you would have to shorten the driveshaft.

I am aware of two versions of these overdrives...the R-10 like I have and there was an earlier model call the R-7 I think.

Someone else on this forum will know more about this than I.
