Yes, I'm yelling. I've seen toooo many trucks stop running because somebody Improved the fuel system by adding a pump or a filter by sawing the steel line with a hack saw, then slipping the rubber hose over it. Not long before the steel rasps away at the inside of the hose, putting rubber 'saw dust' into the carb, or under the valves of their new pump. And/or, the inside layer of rubber hose peels off and plugs the line complete. Use proper barbed fittings.
