About a month back I gave a young man a excellent 241 transfer case - except it was cracked . His jeep 241 was toast. It took a few hours 3-4 to tear down both and swap everthing over. We even sucked the big pressed in gear out of one case and pressed it into the other one. We did not have a manual or any directions. It was pretty simple really.
There is lots of rebuild kits around to upgrade the trans - I think they come with directions. What is an CTD anyway ? If you are talking Cummins then you have a 205- Not that tough to rebuild either.
