I started in the tire business in the early
1960's so tube type tires were still being
serviced especially in the truck tire side
then in the 70's & 80's got involved in
vintage race tires (with my friend Roger Kraus) and most of those were tube type
Roger still does the Montery Historic Race
tire service and is recognized as the #1
vintage race tire expert in the country
so used a lot of tire talc over the years
race tire note: mounting a soccer mom or
red neck tire is nothing like dismounting &
mounting a tire on a vintage race car where
the wheel might be 4k (if you could find a
replacement) stress be careful time
