Thanks very much for your advice. Thank gosh I didnt take it to a dealer for service. I went to Kragen, got a pair of lamps #3157LL for $4.98, got home and in about 3 minutes had the lamp changed out and working properly.
Its interesting to know on these modern vehicles that the turn signal is designed to let you know when your lights aren't working properly.
