I wouldnt count on the new steering wheel lasting until 125 years. The tractor maybe but the new made in china farm store wheel wont.
Sounds like the old school hard rubber coating is finally starting to break down. Maybe Pauls stuff will restore it and get the surface of the wheel slicked up again.
