Hi WILL,
I am well insulated here. Not overdone however. I have two "Dayton" 3E1330 60,000BTU infra red heater's. One in each corner. One smaller 3E132E 30,000BTU in the middle. All are on thermostats. Have never used all three at the same time. Usually one is plenty. Sometime's I will run a second when near zero. Used 1 1/2" plastic underground from meter to garage. Inside is 1" black pipe with 3/4" down pipes at each heater. The only drawback to these heaters is high humidity. These are "vent less" type.
If I had to do over I would go with radiant in the floor,or at least forced air.TGP
