Actually, I can blame lawyers for quite a bit. I had friends that became lawyers, and family that became lawyers and further. Just like politicians (and most were lawyers first). I am NOT saying ALL lawyers are bad, but the #'s are disproportionately high.

I agree with both you guys about history. You can learn a lot about mankinds mistakes (and successes) by studying history, but as Keith pointed out, things are NOT being taught anymore and history is being rewritten.

Take the holocaust. My Dad' sister married a guy that survived it. When I was 7 and we were over at their place for Thanksgiving I saw the #'s tattooed on his arm and asked about it. I was hushed and the subject was changed.

Later that week, my Dad, who was a WW II vet (and no slouch either, he got 2 Bronze Stars and 3 Purple Hearts at Bastonge), told me about what those #'s meant. He had been involved in liberating 3 death camps. Being that my Dad was a very gruff individual, he didn't spare my emotions as he described those places to me. I had nightmares for weeks after.

Now, people are saying it never happened, or it didn't happen to the extent we were led to believe. To the day he died, whenever he heard one of those jerks, he told me NEVER to forget what he told me (that's close to what he said, but I cleaned it up).

Some of these young teachers think they know everything. A wise person once said "The more ya learn, the more ya realize how stupid ya are." My Dad also said to watch out for people who THINK they are smart.

Then there is book learning smart and common sense smart, but that's a different story. HA! Back to lawyers, unless your one yourself, how the hell do ya know if the one ya hired to protect your interests is actually doing that or screwing ya over?

Then if by chance ya find out your getting the shaft, what can ya do? Hire another lawyer? Yeah right. That's like tellin a cop about a bad cop. See how far ya get with that (unless ya live in a big enough town that has an internal investigation unit, which also ain't easy to find).

Bar association? Who staffs them? It goes on forever and so could I, but I'll spare ya. ;>) Also, it takes me forever to type. HA!

Later
