We always disagree on this, so I let Paul post first....= )
The Home Depot straps are actually USA made, rated at 10,000lbs each, I use two on each end, with the rackets tied close.
Chains can come loose as easily as any other type of binding, they transmit the road vibration right to the load and they damage the axles, lines, etc., etc. Strap to the axles only, let the trailers suspension and the load suspension do the work and alway use a Cummins powered Ram 3500 and you'll be fine....= ) Check periodically as a precaution, no matter what you use.
