Had the poly running today, she runs reallly smooth, stays smooth through a good rev, things are good! I tried the hydraulic winch out and got nothing. then tried the steering wheel and no power steering either. I put a pressure gauge onto one of the plow hoses and opened the valve to it. No pressure at all. After deciding not to throw something or have a tantrum, I started draining the radiator and the hydraulic system. Got the radiator pulled and noticed that I was getting power steering fluid leaking out at the pump shaft. I then pulled the power steering pump. The pump is an AGR "P" pump, essentially a beefed up saginaw pump, made to handle the heavier loads when running more than just steering. I took the pump apart and found a circlip off the end of the shaft, allowing tons of end play. When I pulled the shaft the shaft bushing was horribly galled and with pieces missing. I cant figure out what would cause the galling, its probably been run for 5 minutes total. I will be calling AGR tomorrow.
Just when I thought I would get my first ride today.
Oh what a roller coaster!
Tim
