the positive wire goes to the center post of the three posts coming thru the fire wall near the regulator. those posts are connected to your radio interference filter. do you have a TM 9808? it is a simple system to grasp if you have the manual. those filters are available NOS from time to time. I have never had a bad one though so never bought.
