As for the lodging of the charge of trespoassing, in CT you cannot be prosecuted for that if you are attempting to retrieve your own property, but you better have good proof. Just think about how repo men do it, they are allowed on the property but if there is any challenge at all they must leave without their bounty. Under the common law (as opposed to statutory) you have every right to enter anothers property to retrieve your own property.
