Paul, you have the right idea with a hidden ID #. However it is not safe to use your ss# for anything that might be stolen.
It is better to use your driver's license number, as law enforcement can check your DL number easily. Your SS# can not be verified by most law enforcement thru their data bases. Just my .02 worth. Tom H
