All the charts, and other information I have seen show a HUGE jump in CO2 levels in the air (which leads to higher temperatures) right around the time we as humans started creating more CO2 and cutting down large amounts of forest.

Yes I agree temperature goes up and down, and has over the last several million years, heck you could ice skate on the Thames in the 1800s. Yet all the ice core data I have seen seems to show that we are WAY hotter on average then we have been in the past.

I have talked to people who have sat out on the ice and taken cores in Greenland, and Antarctica, and then personally processed the data, have you?

Even if global warming is a complete hoax, what is wrong with reducing our pollution? Do you like having purple smog days in L.A.?

All the "alarmists" are asking for is that we treat the planet as a whole better, which should be better for everyone regardless of why it is done.

As far as I am concerned anything that helps reduce our dependence on oil, cleans up the air, water, etc is a good thing.

Why not build more sustainable housing, or communities that are off the main grid?

I am not a hippie, I wear clothes made in factories, I use plenty of fossil fuels, and I only eat organic when it is served to me, I don't buy it myself. Yet I care a little bit about the social and geopolitical effects of our choices, like fuel use. Why are we only now getting SUVs that get better mileage? Why were the CAFE standards not set higher 10 years ago? Ask yourself questions like that, this is not an issue to ignore and hope it will go away, even if the planet is not in any danger.

Eric
