Look at a 80's-90s Ford F series truck. That is the correct case, but it is the wrong rotation. In the final installation, the box mounts by bolts in from the bottom, through an angle bracket that bolts inside of the frame rail using the original frame holes.

"Throw" generally means stroke. I think you are using it to mean length. The length of the proper shaft is just barely long enough to exit the frame hole and have enough clearance for a 1/2t pitman arm.

Correct boxes are on early 70's dodge 4x4's. They mount on a bracket outside of the frame, in front of the axle. The bracket works for M-37's, but not FFPW's. Also some Internationals, and I've heard Chrysler Cordoba's.

Or have a rebuilder put one together for you. The F-250 case works, but you need reverse rotation guts put inside. Or guess at the two boneyard boxes, and assembly one your self--- if you are that kind of mechanic.

On my own installation, I bent the frame edge rather than cut it. Like the rear cross members on many trucks are done for shock absorber clearance- heat red hot, bend with a monkey wrench. Grinding the box in places can lessen the bending/cutting required, but be careful. One of the guys here ground into an oil passage and ended up with a boat anchor instead of a power steering box.

Now everybody knows as much as I do about putting PS on a FFPW.
