Engine Displacement and Piston Stamping Question

I have a rebuilt engine, believed to be a 251. The block is said to have originally come from an airport forklift. The head is 25+1/2" and came from the early sixties Power Wagon the engine was pulled from. I pulled the head to see what kind of shape the cylinders are in, determine if they were oversized, and check the condition and operation of the valves. The stroke, as measured by the cylinder length with each piston at bottom dead center, is 4+3/4", with one measuring 4+7/8". Everything looks great by the way.

Each of the pistons is stamped STD, marked as to number (1-6), and stamped 226. I assume the pistons were replaced with standard sized pistons (STD), but what does the 226 mean? Chrysler didn't make a 226 to my knowledge, and if they did, I doubt it would have the big block. And it's not (.226), just 226. What gives?
