I had the 9.00-16x36 bias Gumbo wide mudders by Gateway on my '68 WM300 and I couldn't have been happier. They got fantastic traction in 20+ inches of snow and some very sloppy mud. They did flat spot, but, after you drove about 2 miles they were fine. I think they handled well on the street. My main concern was off road. As for tread life, as many miles as most of us put on our trucks I think that almost any tire will last many years. I bought the 11.00-16x38.5 SS Boggers for my M37. I haven't mounted them yet. I know a lot of people that do a lot of hard core off roading (like I used to) and they mostly prefer the Boggers. It is true that they are pretty soft and flat spot quickly. But I think they are the best off road tread. They also come in a 38" height which I wanted, to kill off some of the 5.86s. I hope to get them mounted soon. I will put them to the test off road. As for on the street the tires will dry rot before I wear them out. Andy Tierney
