The WC-1/2 ton wheels are safe with the 7.50x16 tires designed for them. They are unsafe with 9.00x16 Tires, the tire bead does not lock down the snap ring securely. I suspect that other simular tires in that class won‘t be any better. Switch to the WC 3/4 ton combat wheels or the Budd snap ring wheel (M-37, etc.) and you will be safe for most of these tires. Put the two snap rings from the 1/2 ton and the Budd wheels side by side and it will be clear. I’ve seen all kinds tires mounted and won’t say it can’t be done, just exercising damage control my friend....Jackson
