{{Got a 1976 Power Wagon, W100, 400 CID, with a poly gas tank. Seems to be leaking on the top of the tank somewhere. Of course, it is only a dealer? item, new. In research, the various books, Motors,Chilton, etc., give conflicting sizes for that tank. 17 gal., 19., & 21 gal.Any good sources for accurate information concerning the tank size and a new gas tank. }}

Since Dodges were meant to actually work, there were a lot of variations on how they got built since there were so many different needs. Where was your original tank located? There were 4 different tanks used in 1976-78.

There was an inboard tank mounted behind the seat that held 24 gallons. There was a 21 gallon tank mounted in the frame behind the axle. There was two side mounted tanks that were mounted in the frame just behind the cab. These were 18 and 20 gallons, depending on which one you have.

I know of two places that may have a tank for you. One had the 36 gallon tank for my Trailduster just sitting out and ready to go for $40. One place is in Ohio and one is in S. Indiana. E-mail me and I'll send you the contact info for whichever one is nearest you.
