Basically about 35 years ago Goodyear went away with the NDT for all earth moving equipment because they found that they would not "self clean" only if you spun them fast enough to let centrifugal force take over, but you may spin the casing right off. They then came out with the UNI-directional tire for EUCLID earth moving then followed by TEREX. Now ALL earth moving equipment (except a few aplications like salt mines and scrape iron yard which use a solid tire) are factory equiped with the UNI-directional. Another tire which aslo has been changed because it will not "self clean' is the old 45 degree lug tractor tire. You have to go to Poland or Brazil to find these as all the one made here are 23 degree lug. Foot note here: I used to mount duals on the back of the old 8N when I used the loader and run one tire forward and the other in reverse so I can back out of the pile. Ice and snow do not even come close to being as slippery as wet manure on cement barn floor. In a nut shell use NDT's for that 100 point resto and put modern technology tires on that worker. Heck I have a crank for the 8N but I still use the starter motor to get it started, and speaking of that I also have one for my PW. If you would like to ask a real expert on all tires click on the link.
