John:

The MU-2 will not bolt in easily on a W300 front winch frame extension because the front angle iron on a MU-2 is about 2 inches higher than the rear angle iron; it would sit crooked instead of sit level and the input shaft would be at the wrong angle. You want a Braden model MU-2A (per Aaron) or MU-3 winch. The front and rear angle irons on each are the same plane so the winch will sit level. They will easily bolt to the inside bottoms of the W300 winch frame extensions. I have two MU-3's on my W300, one front and one rear. Because they are powered by a PTO mounted on the 201 transfer case instead of the transmission, I have 4 speeds in and 1 speed reverse for each winch. Try junkyards or shops that convert pickups into tow trucks (they sometimes have used winches for sale). Good luck!
