Looking. And looking. Still looking for a Braden, preferably in the northwest. When I do find one, what are the dead give-aways that it might be better off used as a boat anchor. What would slap me in the face and say "BEWARE"? Anybody out there have a crash course (Buying Used Winch 101)orwhat to look for, both the good and the bad? Besides obvious differences such as capacity and size, are they both bolt-on? Are the frame extensions, etc. the same for both (a friend of mine just bolted up an LU-2 to his 64 W300 and it took about an hour--piece of cake). Would an MU-2--if I can find one--bolt up to my 66 W300 just as easily? I know my frame dimensions are different than WM 300 and the W500, and the MU-2 was a factory fit option for them. Are they driven off the same side? Are the PTO shafts the same or do I need to have a driveline shop fabricate these.
So I wait patiently in the hopes you can perhaps impart some knowledge my way as to: 1)where one of these puppies might be and 2)what to look for when I get there.
