Most photos of overseas 1/2 tonners show them in USAAF service.

Mainly open and closed can weapons carriers (pickups) and especially ambulances.

It seems a number of the weapons carriers were used in Atlantic anti-sub groups prior to the USN taking over that task. These groups were based in England, Iceland and North Africa. (Later Brazil was added but most 1/2 tonners were phased out by then, so I doubt any went there.) My guess is they intially got hand-me-downs.

While the 3/4 ton ambulances dominated in the ETO, many 1/2 tonners were relagated to non-combat areas, partiularly England based airfields.

There were also 1/2 tonners, primarily open and some closed cab weapons carriers and cab/chassis, used by the British in Africa. Not a whole lot, but some. My guess is that they didn't last long in frontline service since spare parts were probably scare.
