Please see the ad I just posted for a trailer.
My advice is to purchase a load leveler device, as well as an anti-sway bar.
The load leveler is actually a solid square bar that fits into your towing receiver. The tow ball attaches to the bar. Also, two chains are run from the bar back to the trailer tongue and to two mounts attached to the tongue/A-frame.
The chains once pulled tight transfer weight by jacking effort, to the front wheels of the tow vehicle, thus taking weight off of the tongue, reducing tongue weight.
The anti-sway bar does just what the name implies and also fits to one side of the trailer tongue.
These two are must-haves for safety. Check with your state's trailering reg's. as these may be required.
The trailer I have for sale is already equipped with the above.
Also, be sure you buy a trailer with electric brakes on at least the rear axle. Of course, this is for a tandem axle trailer which is the only type to consider for hauling anything bigger than a VW.
With the electric brakes you will need to purchase a brake controller. This is a solid state electric controll device you wire to the tow vehicle, usually near the driver.
Also, the trailer needs a safety breakaway device, which uses its own 12v battery, about the size of a motorcycle battery. Should your trailer break loose, the battery provides power to the trailer's electric brakes and locks them up. Again, required in most states for these heavy trailers.
If you are anywhere near Portland, OR I would be happy to deliver mine to you.
Good luck. Any other questions, feel free to email me directly.
