Don't rule out that the noise could be coming from the rear Differential. I thought for sure my transfer was shot with all the noise I was hearing in the cab so I put in a nos one and the noise got louder, later when I pulled the diff all kinds of neat things fell out. Since installing a rebuilt diff I can now hear my cel phone ring while driving my 37 at a blistering 50mph.
