{{How do you purists feel about disc brakes? }}

I'm no purist. These trucks were built to be driven and used. Granted, I don't abuse it or work it really hard, but it does haul heavy stuff that nothing else I have can handle.

My '52 has been modified with power booster and master cylinder off a circa '70 model Chevy truck. It has also been changed over to 12 volt with components from the same era vehicle.

I plan on getting one set of the disc brake conversion parts when I get my vacation bonus later this month. I plan to change the rear brakes whenever I can afford it and if the Zoning Gestapo isn't on my case. I figure with the disc brakes and power brakes, I'll stop whenever I want.

I talked to Joe earlier about posting photos of the power brake set up. I now have a digital camera and if I can ever get it hooked up, I'll be putting photos of how the conversion to power brakes was done. As for the rear drum rivets holding the backing plate on, I've chiseled many a rivet head off and will probably do it again unless can find find a sucker....er....kind hearted individual to do it for me. :)
