My '48 has a tool box on the runningboard infront of the rear fender. Ours measures 36" long x 9" wide x 14" deep. We keep all our chains, budd wrenches, ect in there, all locked up with a padlock. I just glass beaded ours and will get it painted, then I will probably line-x the interior of it, and drill in a hole or two for water drainage with a small foam baffle.
