Yes the 56 is a synchro. I had a parts truck with frame extensions, winch bumper, transmission with PTO and an MU2 winch from a different truck. The later PTO would not fit the earlier non-synchro trans. And as I remember, I needed the later bellhousing for the mounts. Not sure, it was last winter, but I had to use the newer bell housing. Anyway, the earlier starter would not mesh correctly with the flywheel and I had to put in the newer starter, which also needed rebuilt. So now I have a new rebuilt foot activated starter that I don't need. JH
