I did extensive powder coating on my truck, including the rims. They a;so power coated the split ring. I mounted the tires myself and had pretty good luck doing that with not one chip as I lubbed it really good. As robert said any surface flaw will stick out so I picked the best rims and then made the worst one reversed as my spare
