Close but It goes back farther then that try bible times and look at Joshua and the but stomping he gave their ancestors or even futher take a gander at Abrahams kids Ishmael and Isaac they didn't get along so well and every time Issac was favored by his father over Ishmael(who was the eldest) it pissed him off. It has just escalated since then. I took class in mideast politics in college my prof was a big history buff and always tied things in history as far back as he could.
