Your right as rain when ya said "We just made a martyr out of him." This phase is only just begining. If ya study history, this feud goes all the way back to the Crusades. It also has to do with generations of inbreeding, 1st cousins marrying 1st cousins.
Over time, things get twisted and warped and exagerated. Ya know when the muslims got all upset about the cartoon in Denmark, well, I thought about another one with all the figureheads of all the religions looking down at us, shaking their heads asking themselves "Where did we screw up?" "Don't they have a clue?"
Bottom line, we're screwed! Just an observation.
