I have a largely stock 48 b1 pw with the 230 and nonsynchro 4sp. And I was just wondering, if one of the older NP435s will bolt up to a 97' fuel injected 318, and what it would take to put this into my pw, while retaining the pto winch and stock transfer case???

I know I'll have to fab motor mounts, and be very tricky routing the exhaust, but stuff like will the original PTO unit bolt to an NP435?? Will the drive shaft for the winch clear the oil pan??? Would it be easier to use an older 318 and tranny, than to use one with fuel injection???

The reason I'm asking is a friend of mine has a 318 out of a 97' pickup that I think I could get pretty cheap.

I'm not real particular about originality since the truck is about 3 different kinds of old Dodges anyway, but I don't want to have to change the entire running gear.

Opinions?????

Thanx Dylan in Lewiston Idaho
