I have a stock 48 b-1 that is a semi-daily driver. I drive it to work every other week, which is a round trip of about 10 miles per day, occasional trips to the local trails. We really don't have any real hard core trails around here, so it probably wouldn't see extreme abuse. However, I do a lot of trips in the deep snow during hunting season, and icy roads are not uncommon.

Most of the guys (with jeeps, or Toy landcruisers) around here have some sort of mechanical automatic locker in the rear and a selectable locker or open diff in the front. A few guys with trail only machines have automatic lockers in the front, and rear, but they say that they would never do that to a truck that saw very much road time.

So I kinda figured I could install some sort of automatic locker in the back since they seem to be a little cheaper, and try it for a year or so to see how it would handle.

Opinions????

Thanx Dylan
