1. the michelin tires are Tactical Military
tires designed for off road use on all types
of terrain - the michelin data book has all
the air pressures & speed / load limitations
for each type of terrain.
2. It is not "Forbidden" for a DIY'er to change truck wheels (incl combat types) but
it might not be a wise/safe thing to do
3. Budd type wheels are very easy to service
4. if there was a better performing military
tire than the michelins then the military
services around the world would use them.
wether anyone likes it or not Michelin dominates the Tactical Tire Fitments in the
world today. The XL & XZL tires are decendents of the XS (Sahara) tire which has
been in use for well over 30 years. and these
tires have more research & engineering in them than any other manufacturers products
5. finding new 11.00r16 michelins might be a
problem although quite a few are showing up
as surplus - used are always available
6. all radial tires have a shelf life michelin & most put it at about 6 years
but with the limited miles put on early power
wagons should not be a problem - just need to
inspect as you would with any tire
7. combat wheels might be easier for a DIY'er
to take apart in the field but they are not
really "COMBAT" if the run flat ring is not
installed. read the best of the forum - Paul
Cook has all the information on service of
combat bolt together wheel
