I modified my B1 PW hubs for oil lubrication via Rob Steller's 1/4" pipe plug method. I'll compare Valvoline syn grease on the driver side rear vs 85/140 syn oil on the pass side, and see which leaks or wears worst. Pics & a brief writeup are posted at www.powerwagonadvertiser.com . Rob also mentioned in one of his posts using 250 wt oil in a FF- anyone ever try this? I think oil would lubricate the stub axle bushing in the knuckle better than grease, if you could get it to stay in. How high was the oil level in the Dana 70 knuckle? Did they grease the upper knuckle bearing or rely on oil splash? I'd like to hear of anyone's experiences with this, good or bad- thanks for your time.
